The head of the Sudanese Presidential Council, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, continues to expand his regional recognition. He has become a symbol of political and military power in Sudan, and no peace process can move forward without his involvement. This is due to Burhan's rejection of dialogue and his choice to reinstate the Muslim Brotherhood to power in order to consolidate his position as an authoritarian leader. This kind of thirst for power and reliance on war has pushed the country towards geographical division. Political and diplomatic circles are now talking about governments in Port Sudan and Nyala instead of just talking about a war between the SAF led by the Muslim Brotherhood and the RSF. Any future negotiations will have to deal with the reality of who controls different parts of Sudan and the communities that live there. #KeepEyesOnSudan #Sudan
